On November 27, from 6.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m., the Cultural Center Vejò di Valmorel, in Limana, hosts the presentation of the book “The European Wildcat in Italy. Biology, Ecology, and Conservation.”, with authors Marco Catello, Giacomo De Donà, and Riccardo Deon.
A meeting to learn about one of the most elusive and fascinating mammals in our country. Among woods and clearings, the European wildcat lives far from human sight, in increasingly fragmented territories.
The volume explores the history of the relationship with humans, the habitats, the morphology, and the behavior of the species, delving into identification methods and the challenges for its conservation. Special attention is given to the relationship with domestic cats and the issue of hybridization.
Over 150 photographs, accurate illustrations, diagrams, and distribution maps accompany a narrative that combines scientific rigor with clear communication. An opportunity for enthusiasts, scholars, and the curious to discover a still little-known feline and understand the importance of its protection.
