Perched majestically in Casteldardo, within the municipality of Borgo Valbelluna, stands Villa Piloni Federici Foscolo

An icon of Venetian architecture, it is a silent witness to centuries of history and a culture deeply rooted in the region. Erected at the end of the 16th century by the Piloni family, one of the oldest and most influential in Belluno, the villa has undergone significant transformations over the centuries, yet it has preserved its original charm. Its current appearance is the result of extensive 18th-century restoration, which gives it a timeless elegance. Inscribed on the villa's facade is a stone tablet bearing the famous "Bellunese rhythm," one of the oldest testimonies in the Venetian language. This document recounts the destruction of Mirabello Castle or Castello d'Ardo in 1193 and is a precious record of the millennia-old history of the Valbelluna valley. Currently, the villa and its magnificent park are not open to the public. Although you cannot physically visit the villa and its park, you can still immerse yourself in their history and the beauty of the place. The surroundings of Borgo Valbelluna offer numerous opportunities for nature and culture lovers. You can explore the trails that wind through the woods, visit the villages, taste the local products, and discover the traditions of the mountain people.
