In the heart of the Prealps, in Valmorel, you will find Malga Canal del Gat at 971 m above sea level

The malga is a classic mountain structure, made of stone and wood according to local tradition, once surrounded by stables and livestock. Established by the local agro-pastoral community, it served to support the summer ritual of transhumance, that is, the grazing of livestock. Today, the malga is owned by the Municipality of Limana. Recognized as a beloved place by several generations of Valbelluna, it has hosted summer camps and spiritual retreats organized by the parish. From a dairy production center, it has become a hub for social, recreational, and hiking activities, with spaces for picnics, trekking paths, and mountain biking trails. The malga opens on occasions of local events, such as the Magnalonga, and is a stop for parish or scout groups. It is located along various hiking routes, and along the path to Malga Montegal, there are wooden sculptures that tell the story of Pinocchio, enriching the experience for visitors.  The destination is ideal for families with children, thanks to trails with little elevation gain, as well as for groups of friends or cyclists.
